White Water Rafting
Let's Go White River Rafting  On The Zambezi!

Half day, full day and multi day options

White Water Rafting is currently closed due to high water levels, we expect rafting to reopen at the end of May.

The Zambezi One Day Rafting has been rated the best rafting experience in the world!

Full day white water rafting trips

  • The Full Day Rafting starts under the fall of the Victoria Falls at Rapid 1 (The Boiling Pot) and ends at Rapid 25 where guests take the cable car out of the gorge.
  • A full day is about 5 hours. The first ten rapids are the most challenging with the rapids after lunch being more relaxed
  • Guests may choose to complete the excitement of their days rafting and take a helicopter flight out of the Batoka Gorge (at additional cost) and get an aerial view of the Victoria Falls.
  • At the end of the day all rafters meet at The Victoria Falls Waterfront for a hearty meal and a well-earned cold beer! Afterwards enjoy watch your rafting experience on the big screen!

Half day white water rafting trips

If you are short on time you should consider a half day rafting trip. There are morning and afternoon options available. The most exciting is the morning run, but it will involve a steep 200m walk out of the gorge at the end as the cable car only operates from Rapid 25.
Afternoon rafting trips are more sedate with 'easier' rapids and include the cable car at Rapid 25.

What's the story with High Water and Low Water?

  • The rafting season is divided into Low Water and High Water.
  • The seasons are water level dependant with Low Water usually happening between August and the end of December when is it safe to raft rapid 1 - 25.
  • The High-water season starts around January to approximately July. During this time only rapids 10 to 25 are operated.
  • If water levels get too high rafting may stop for a short period, usually around May, when the water flow is at its highest.

    What you should know
Minimum age for rafting is 15 years. There is no maximum age but guests should be reasonably fit.
If your trip does not end at rapid 25 you will need to hike the 200m out of the gorge to the top where the vehicle is waiting for you with a nice cold drink!

Multi day rafting trips

If you are looking to do something "a little different" for a  Bachelor Weekend or a bonding and Dads and Lads getaway then the multi day rafting trip is the trip to consider. After the first day the river calms down from pumping rapids to a purr.

There are two options available:

2 day, 1 night
3.5 day, 3 night

The trips have set departures and operate from August to New Year when water levels are lower. But if you have set dates that don't fall into these. chat to us and we will arrange a trip just for you, providing you have a group of minumum four people.

All trips will depart on a minimum of 4 people and a maximum number of 16 people.
Trips include a skilled guide, safety equipment, camping gear (bring your own sleeping bag) meals and drinks.
